The Montenvers train is open. Reopening on December 13th: Mer de Glace gondola, Glaciorium and Temple de la Nature. Reopening of the Ice Cave scheduled for December 20th.

The Temple de la Nature is a historic building constructed in 1795 at Montenvers, above Chamonix, to welcome travelers admiring the Mer de Glace. Designed by Marc-Théodore Bourrit, it was one of the first mountain refuges in the Alps, and welcomed famous writers such as Victor Hugo and Chateaubriand. Octagonal in shape, it has undergone several restorations, the most recent in 2022. It is an important testimony to the beginnings of mountain tourism.
Today, it has been transformed into a projection room where you can learn more about its history.
