Information Montenvers Mer de glace

- Opening of the Mer de Glace gondola lift, the Temple of Nature and the Glaciorium on All Saints' Day from 18/10 to 2/11 included.

A glaciologist will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day during this period to read the landscape and provide information on the Mer de Glace.

The Grotte de Glace is currently closed.

Meeting with a glaciologist

Every day from October 18 to November 2 – Bottom station of the cable car : Meet a glaciologist who will share landscape readings and key insights about the Mer de Glace and the world of glaciers.

Grand Balcon Nord : Montenvers - Plan de l'Aiguille

From Montenvers, a suspended trail begins that, like a balcony, winds between rocks and alpine meadows. It gently leads to Plan de l’Aiguille, offering breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks at every step

The famous little red train takes passengers from Chamonix (1035 m) to the Montenvers station (1913 m) in 20 minutes. On arrival, the view of the Mer de Glace is breathtaking, bearing witness to the effects of climate change.
