(Ice Cave and gondola closed from 12 to 30 May 2025 included)

The Montenvers train does not require a timetable reservation: please go directly to the station with your ticket.

Take the little red Montenvers train from Chamonix to Montenvers - Mer de Glace. There is a charge for parking near the departure stations

Dogs on a leash.

Dogs are allowed on the entire Montenvers site (including the cave) on a lead only. Please note! The stairs leading down to the grotto are openwork metal staircases that can hurt a dog's paw pads.

Glaciorium access with companions.

No access possible to the Ice Cave.

The famous little red train takes passengers from Chamonix (1035 m) to the Montenvers station (1913 m) in 20 minutes. On arrival, the view of the Mer de Glace is breathtaking, bearing witness to the effects of climate change.
