Due to the strike called by the Montenvers Train Departmental Authority, the Montenvers Train will operate on a limited schedule today.

There will be only one train per hour starting at 10:30 a.m.

Take the little red Montenvers train from Chamonix to Montenvers - Mer de Glace. There is a charge for parking near the departure stations

Dogs are allowed on the entire Montenvers site (including the cave) on a lead only. Please note! The stairs leading down to the grotto are openwork metal staircases that can hurt a dog's paw pads.

The famous little red train takes passengers from Chamonix (1035 m) to the Montenvers station (1913 m) in 20 minutes. On arrival, the view of the Mer de Glace is breathtaking, bearing witness to the effects of climate change.
