The Montenvers train does not offer a slot reservation system.

During peak periods, waiting times can be long. We strongly advise you to come early in the morning to make the most of your visit.

The Chamonix team who look after the village, from the cleaners to the lift staff are amazing and do a wonderful job keeping the town looking incredible, especially considering the number of visitors. Great Job guys 👏 xxx

The famous little red train takes passengers from Chamonix (1035 m) to the Montenvers station (1913 m) in 20 minutes. On arrival, the view of the Mer de Glace is breathtaking, bearing witness to the effects of climate change.
