A wonderful site, from the train ride up, to the views, to the ice cave itself. Just make sure not to rush, even on a cloudy day the views can suddenly appear within minutes!

The famous little red train takes passengers from Chamonix (1035 m) to the Montenvers station (1913 m) in 20 minutes. On arrival, the view of the Mer de Glace is breathtaking, bearing witness to the effects of climate change.
